Legal Aid is an organization primarily funded by either taxpayers, private donations, or fees paid by the lawyers of the state.
It’s goal is to provide low or no cost legal services to people who cannot afford to hire a lawyer.
Legal Aid does a good job with limited funds and they are also pretty good at putting general information on the web.
The website at this link provides information on If You are Being Sued and Can't Afford a Lawyer: Filing an Answer and answers a number of questions including:
- What is an Answer?
- What is a Counterclaim?
- When to File
- Where to File
- What to File With the Court
- Preparing for Trial
And many others.
